I did say something of value
imo, maybe it wasn't valuable to you
iyo. And that was people should not be put in sacks and beat with baseball bats. And on a side note it should not be done because they literally read a religious book, because how would one know if that person is reading it literally or not. I also said that people have a right to cultivate their spiritual side.
You constantly bringing up the stone the fowl mouth youths, I don't why you do that. I've seen almost every kind of attitude, every kind of argument against Christianity, honestly I don't know where you stand. There is more to the Bible then the creation story, yet to many people that is all they know and they go no further than that. And yet some of them will form their opinion on Christianity only reading less then 1% of the Bible. For other people they will read through the Bible and probably reading it more times then most Christian do. Some of them have a axe to grind (so to speak) and they comb through it looking for verses to use in arguments. I find you somewhere inbetween, whenever you mention "the fowl mouth youths" I often wonder how you feel about religion in general.
As far as the Bible bieng a work of fiction. The Bible is unique unto itself, out of respect, I can't explain the Bible away as being one kind literature. I often see words like fictional, historical, mythical, scientific, used in about the Bible. But they are terms that explain how people view different types of writings now but they don't fully explain what the Bible is. The Bible was not intended to be a historical book or a scientific book. If you take part of the Bible that is a historical account, it isn't the same as a History Book, because with the Bible behind the historical sense there is a spiritual sense.
