Let's see... was in a car accident when I was a kid, yes. Was in a really bad car accident myself back in 02' or 03'. But that was my fault.
But through the years of driving, I've been "almosted" a lot of times, particularly when you're in someone's blind spot or they're just not paying attention. I've been run off the road that way plenty.
Now when I'm passing someone on a 2 lane 1 way, My hand is resting on my horn and I gtfo as soon as possible because I just don't trust other drivers more than I trust myself.
I think that's probably the biggest thing I learned in defensive driving courses I had to take after my big accident I was at fault in... Most people can be great drivers but they don't realize that they may be surrounded by horrible drivers... Gotta be prepared to react to someone else's mistakes just like you'd react to your own.
