Yeah, that was basically the point I was trying to make which you seemed to want to argue against

People are mixing things up and doing new things to old genres, everything is getting more polished. I feel I've heard little really new, it's more mixing things up in new ways. It's not that I hear nothing new by the way, just much less compared to other decades and what was new then.

I agree a bit with Urban, most of the 00s music I've heard sounds pretty safe. However, I also agree with Anteater in the points he's making. People are mixing things up, production quality is often very high and bands seem to have more connection with their fans.

I'm not saying it's a horrible decade. It's when I compare it with others that I find it less exciting. As I wrote before, I think the pop music has on average had a much higher quality this decade than last .. and come on, of course popular culture is important in how we view a decade.
