Apocalypse Now - Redux version ..
At about 3 hours and 15 minutes, this extended version requires a little bit of dedication. According to Coppola, it's not a movie about vietnam - it
is vietnam and the film is convincing in it's supposed understanding of what went down there. There's a lot of action scenes interspersed with slower scenes where Martin Sheens character has an internal narrative and reflection. Brutal and horrifying at times, poetic at others.
It's a brilliant film and the scale of the production is incredible. Most movie buffs will already have seen it, but perhaps it was a while ago and perhaps it wasn't this extended version. If that's you, you should consider watching it again.
