watched it the other night for my Writing for Design Class. a documentary about famed architect Frank Gehry, telling us about the processes he went through in designing many of his most famous and less know works (The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Walt Disney Museum, Maggie's house). you also see how Frank became an architect and several of his influences while in the field. here you see the man behind the design, someone who has both a grand ego and low self esteem, one who is both humble and larger than life.

what also interested me is how Frank got longtime friend Sydney Pollack to make it, even though, as he said in the beginning of the movie "it's not just that i didn't know how to make documentaries; i didn't even know anything about architecture.", so i was intrigued on seeing just how he would approach this task.

i wished that they went a little deeper into his life (where he grew up, a little more in his family life, etc) but overall it was a satisfying watch and got me much more intrigued in the rest of Frank Gehry's work.
