Never had you down as desert blues fan
I love me some of the stuff, so I've definitely gotta track that album down, especially as I've been a Tinariwen fan for a good few years now. If it's that kinda stuff you're into, you should check out a band called Etran Finatawa if you haven't already, not to mention a Tinariwen album or two - both bands have a very similar kinda barrage of guitars sound about them. There's subtler stuff like Ali Farka Toure's work which is worth a go as well.
