I think it's a nice option, but I agree that romance shouldn't have to be important. I never wanted it in Dragon Age, but I have encountered it a couple of times. I even had to break up with one of the other characters and she didn't like me much afterwards. I never even wanted to romance her, it just happened! I'm a dwarf for Gods sake, leave me alone you perverted male elfs and female humans. Interspecies? Yech.
All I know about Borderlands is that it claims to be a sort of multiplayer RPG and it looks a bit like an FPS deathmatch .. .. sounds rather brilliant, but also a bit puzzling. Is it something completely different?
