Ha ha...this was kind of like my situation, storymilo. My older brother got me the first Harry Potter book around 10 years ago for my birthday. I read the first chapter and thought...meh...not too impressive, and so I put the book away and promptly lost it. I remember thinking that *anything* so many other humans liked couldn't *possibly* be very good (that's my snobbish side), even though I was told that the books become more mature and engrossing as one advances through the series.
Well, two years ago I finally decided to give the series another go. I checked out the first book from the library.
Within two months I had read the whole series, eagerly watched all the movies available on DVD, and was waiting with excitement for the theater showings of the newest releases. I haven't worn a cape yet to a Harry Potter movie, though. Hmm....maybe I should dress up as Harry next time!
Here's my non-alcoholic six-pack:
What was your childhood nickname, and why?
Blondie. My grandma called me Blondie because my hair was...blond.
Best pick up line you've ever heard?
I have never heard a pick-up line (of me, that is). There are a lot of funny ones in existence, though!
Would you ever get plastic surgery done on any part of your body?
Never. Never never never never. I avoid creating unnecessary holes and lacerations in my body.
What do you do when vending machines steal your money?
After pushing the return change button many, many times, I try to find the owner of the vending machine. I contact the person to ask for my money back.
Whats the worst injury you've ever received?
A metal door closed on my thumb, breaking a thumb bone when I was 18. It had me hopping in pain. Ooo!
If you could invite three famous people to sit around a table and have dinner with you, who would they be?
Charles Darwin, Einstein, and Carl Sagan. I think they'd have a fun time meeting and learning from each other.
