So...this is the Dead of my father's generation. A wild menagerie of styles (folk, bluegrass, psychedelia among others) packed into one tremendous triple live album. There are plenty of naysayers here that will dispute this (hell, it was the Dead's first venture outside the States) but it's the absolute best live recording I've heard in a very long while. There's more than a fair share of covers but it doesn't detract from the pace or quality of the album and probably works better than anything else they could have done.

Definitely a great album as far as content is concerned, but it has always lacked the "live" feel that trademarked their sound. There were also alot of studio overdubs added in post-production.
