KMFDM had a progression somewhat like Ministry's...in that their early stuff was more synth-based and then they got heavier. I'd recommend you check out Money and Angst, two of my favorites that will show you both sides.

Thrill Kill Kult's Kooker Than Jesus is definitely a cool EP. I like their first two albums, I See Good Spirits & I See Bad Spirits and Confessions of a Knife as well, but after that they got too glam for me (for the most part, I still like some songs).
