He was doing the dismissing of the whole decade I was only making exceptions to his dismissal - and that makes me not know what I'm talking about?? I don't get it. I mentioned my exceptions, and I don't see where your compulsion to insult me comes from, except for the fact that what I liked from that era was the "alternative" music (then) that was underground and wasn't mainstream at the time, I'm sorry I don't care much about Michael Jackson and Madonna Ciccone, Hair Metal and Rap that was big in the mid/late 80's. I'm sorry if I don't have any knowlegde of The Pop Charts after the mid 80's.

I'm not the only one who doesn't care much for MTV and the effect it had on music in the 80's. Frank Zappa critized the music industry, eg the paying for videos to get exposed etc. Henry Rollins (in a Rock doc) said nothing (or hardly anything) happened in the late 80's not until Grunge happen in the early 90's.
