Wu Tang is definitely a bona fide collective, albeit a loose one. There is definitely a cohesiveness to their style. Each member seems to have that distinctive Wu Tang signature as an element of their flow.They tour together, sometimes as the entire clan, sometimes in smaller clusters. There's also the rappers that comprise the lesser affiliated adjunct to the clan called The Storm.
I do agree that Wu Tang is mostly RZA's vision and would be nothing without his production and the cohesiveness that he brings to the group, and I do like Doom's minimalistic production; it suits his style quite well. As far as comparing beats, it's apples and oranges, but I think doom would do well withing the Matrix of RZA's production, and I think it'll be pretty cool to see what kind of synergy comes about from such an odd pairing
