I'm not going to bore anybody with a lecture on the fine points of music for film. All the information you need to know is readily available on Google. That being said, my favorite film score composers are Yann Teirsen, Angelo Baldalamenti, Phillip Glass, John Barry, Bernard Hermann, Earle Hagen, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone and Ry Cooder. It's a shame Badalamenti seems to be only known by David Lynch fans, though I think the guy only functions properly when collaborating with this guy. Like hearing Mulholland Drive's ost and then hearing his work on A Very Long Engagement, I wonder where this guy vanished.
