I agree, especially Public Enemy. Public Enemy was the perfect combination of talent and pioneering.
Though, I do love Run DMC and Grandmaster Flash. I like NWA, though the rhetoric isn't always great. But their talent was undeniable.
As for the earlier comment that Wu-Tang Clan was essentially hip-hop's first "supergroup," I think NWA was hip-hop's first supergroup.
