Blur make it through.

Next up a joint nom from Mirrorball95 and Antonio

Neil Young

Alrite man now listen up, Neil Young most definitely deserves to be up there. I shouldnt really have to explain this one to you though. After influencing pretty much every major rock act for the past 40 years, from his Buffalo Springfield beginnings to his glorious 90s rebirth and his recent epic headlining performance at Glastonbury at the age of 63, I think he deserves to be held up amongst the best artists and lyricists of the past 40 years. I am still to meet someone who doesn't like Neil Young or hasn't at least been influenced in some way by him. I once spoke to a guy who said he only liked Death Metal.... and Neil Young. I nearly fell off my seat, but he said he took influence from the structure of his songs, which was pretty amazing.

On a more personal note, his music has been life changing for me and totally changed my outlook and perception of music. A lot of his lyrics have also affected me in many different ways, whether hes talking about World War II in songs such as 'Western Hero' or love in such immensely beautiful, mindblowing songs such as 'Harvest Moon', you can always relate to them.
At least if Neil Young gets in, I will be able to handle Nickelback's (possible) entry better. After all we do have to keep everyone happy.

-----------------------------------------------------

Now, i'm not exactly the biggest loyalist for Neil Young, but this is truly a man who deserves to be in the Musicbanter Hall of Fame. with a career spanning almost 50 years, he has influenced countless bands and singer songwriters with his personal, down to earth lyrics as well as his distinct voice and painfully strong guitar work, those very traits that influenced a little movement know as "grunge", if you've heard of it

it'd also be a bit of a travesty to let an artist like Nickelback in if not the very person who's almost responsible for the band's very existence.
