I think a lot of dislike for Animal Collective comes from the same human need to fit in that caused so much praise for them. Not saying this applies to any of you, but I think that a lot of people say that MPP is overrated simply because the coolest thing of all is to dislike what the hipsters like. Somehow that makes said person even more of a hipster
And if anyone's wondering, I thought it was great. And when I first realized how great it was I didn't know how much Pitchfork praised it, nor did I read the review if that matters at all.
