I understand that you don't have to be able to read music to play. But for me it kinda goes hand in hand a little. Just basic reading music thats it. Nothing complex or that like.

I'm with tore. Since when did playing music mean aspiring to conquer every single genre, style and technique out there? Learning instruments for me is about enjoyment and personal growth, not trying to be every single different virtuoso out there.
Anyway, I 'play' all instruments that are listed up there apart from drums. I could never, ever get into drums for some reason. I was dragged along to classical piano lessons when I was a child, I then started picking up a guitar when I was a teenager and now I'm venturing into bass - which is definitely my favourite instrument to play! I also 'play' my vocal chords but have no formal training, unless you count singing in the shower and in my car  I'm not that great but I enjoy what I do and that is all that matters! |
Haha, well I must play my vocal chords too, very badly though...
After I get my car and that, I'm definetly buying Bass. I don't care what anyone says. I want to learn it.
At school I was a champ on drums, that was the instrument I was best at. Don't know how good I'd be now though.
