i still have a ways to go with it, so i'm not sure i can give a clear opinion just yet.

so far, i respect his goal of eliminating dualism as i tend to agree that dualism is basically "admitting defeat" in terms of figuring out how consciousness works. he makes a compelling argument, and i have to say reading this book and seeing how adamant he is it is hard for me to continue reading without conceding to a lot of his points. the one criticism i have so far is how he openly trashes other people's arguments while at the same time taking arguments of his that people have criticized in the past and saying, "oh well...this is what i really meant". to me, it starts to weaken his credibility. even so, as i said, i haven't finished it yet and still have a ways to go. so far, a pretty intriguing read.
