Yeah because it's fantasy, but also because Lewis and Tolkien were close friends and shared some stylistic similarities.

Harry Potter is made for children, or at least it was when it started, the books became more mature as the readers became more mature.

I like Frodo, if he comes off as annoying in the films sometimes I think it's just because of Woods mannerisms and not really the fault of the writing, but I still think Wood was very good in the role. I kinda liked Bakshi's Frodo more though. He wasn't as wussy or stupid. Then again, the fact that Frodo is such a wuss in Jackson's films is what makes him such a distinct and interesting protagonist.
