Since it's "beyond you", I'll bring it into simpler terms. You said in a few years Haiti will be back in poverty because people don't care about their fellow man. Yet you're the one who has a problem with people sending aid to Haiti now, which seems an awful lot to me like everyone caring about their fellow man EXCEPT you. Just because they aren't donating/helping for the reasons you'd like them to be doesn't make them any less humanitarian than you.
