this completely passed me by - a new Fall single from November. It would seem that they are versions that won't be appearing on the new album (due April) as this is a limited ed. tour thing.
As for the music, same as ever, with a few subtle differences for the inside-out fans that are listening.
-'Slippy Floor (Mark Mix)' takes the endlessly-repeated riff formula from the last 2-3 albums and er, repeats it. It's a great riff though. The Mark mix refers to the low quality tape outro, presumably, great
-'Hot Cake (Part 2)' is rockabilly and sounds ironically exactly like the Pavement song 'Western Homes'
-There's also a poorly-recorded, extended repetitive live version of the Groundogs' classic 'Strangetown'. I love the original song and the Fall's version on 'Imperial Wax Solvent', plus I am hitting the bootlegs hard lately, so this seems like a quality, krautrock-y version to me (complete with some conspicuous synth-wobbling from MES' wife for once).
