You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I did feel that the 3D was used in a gimmicky way. As far as wearing the glasses goes, I found it headache-inducing, just like every other 3D movie I've ever seen, and had to keep taking the glasses off every 15 minutes or so to give my eyes a break. So for me it was very distracting and took me
out of the experience instead of making me feel immersed in the movie.
