my bad, in that case i totally misunderstood you issue with strumming hehe.

as for the books, it's unfortunate but there are a lot of crappy ones out there. the ones that show the 'simple' versions, or 1001 songs that 'everyone' knows, are usually close enough to fool the average campfire crowd but not quite the same as playing along to the album. that's really the point of those books, to get a simplified version of the song so you can play it to a crowd who'll gladly sing along to something close enough to the real thing.

if you want a book that will show you how to play along with the album look for something specific to the album and published by Cherry Lane Music. Cherry Lane Music Publishing Company, Inc. - Home. last time i bought one of their books they were around $30 a pop.
