I don't have cats, but we do have rats. I sometimes like to annoy them by spraying them with my water squirt bottle. If you need new ideas for how to bother your cat and haven't tried that one yet, I warmly recommend it. Also - for cats and not rats, chasing them around the house while playing loudly on guitar seems to work!
