Oh man. This is an old thread and it's a nice review but that trio of LPs you've started with is pretty odd. Personally I thought this LP was a letdown after the return to form of his triple (quadruple really as 'Cold Roses' was a double) whammy of LPs of a couple of years previous. Only 'Goodnight Rose' and 'The Sun Also Sets' are keepers for me.
My faves of his are 'Gold', 'Cold Roses' and 'Heartbreaker' in that order. Any newbies should definitely start with 1 of those. Avoid 'Love Is Hell' and 'Rock N Roll' at all costs - absolute stinkers.
