I voted "Yes"
There are a lot of resources out there, anything from Youtube, to teach basic, to Mel Bay where you can obtain CDs Books and Videos, I sure you can find a pedagogical method for the trumpet anywhere online - that is enough to get you started, and with a lot of hard practice you could work you way up to intermediate level, but if you want to be an advance trumpet player like say a Jazz trumpet player I would recommend getting a teacher after you get the basic down - nothing's worse then shelling out major bucks for a half hour lesson as a beginner just to learn like three notes.
