U2 I can vouch for though. The Stones should've called it a day after they released Tattoo You as well. Another one that springs to mind are the Flying Burrito Brothers, and their thinking they could keep going without Gram Parsons or Chris Hillman.

it. If they had called it quits just before Standing on The Shoulder Of Giants, they would've released 2 brilliant albums, 1 average one. And would actually have a lot more respect for what they did.
U2 should have called it quits after Atchung Baby.
