hey look, here's what i got, was given these the other day

Butter 08 'Butter 08' (1996): one-off collab on Grand Royal of some Japanese people and some guy fron Jon Spencers Blues wotsit. Seems alright. Prefer the heavier grittier stuff on here to the Beck-ish nonsense atm, gets a bit chirpy in a mid-90s kind of way

Pete Townshend 'Empy Glass' (1980): much, much better than what the Who were doing by this point. Nice ambitious, big-budget errr rock album. Not sure how else to describe it. Still tight as a duck's arse though

Yello 'You Gotta Say Yes To Excess' (1983) - I have 1980's debut 'Solid Pleasure', and it's quite difficult to sum up Yello 'cause there's so damned diverse. Broadly synth-pop. Often club-oriented and a bit industrial** on this album. Suitably mental, they spice up what would otherwise be quite run-of-the-mill stuff with a seemingly endless array of weird samples and sonic U-turns

p.s. where's the props for 'Know Your Enemy' in this Manics love in eh?!

** i said industrial, i meant EBM
