When it comes to consistency and some level of Pop stardom, I'm going to have to mention Blur as being a band who were very close to earning that in The 90's. In a way, not exactly of course, they are among the closest to being like a Beatles for this age. If not in worldwide fame, but in having a strong body of work, some time in the Teen Idol world (Leisure, Parklife, Great Escape eras), having been able to mature while keeping a faithful fan base, having influential musicians (Damon and Graham), and creating a long line of fine singles with a number of musical styles while still retaining their unique character. Their videos sometimes can be visually interesting (The classic Universal, Chemical World) or very charming (Sunday Sunday, Coffee and TV) in a way that The Beatles' promo clips and music segments in their films were through their time as well.
