The game appears to punish you for being in first place, making for some definite balancing issues. I also didn't like the fact that there wasn't that many new courses - it was fun to see some of the old, classic tracks re-emerge but after the quality of courses in Double Dash I felt that the selection was quite poor this time round.

Yeah, I haven't played Mario Kart Wii yet. Of all the Mario Kart games, Double Dash was my favorite, but I don't have it anymore.
Recently I got a DS, Mario Kart DS was the first game I got, it's awesome, has a huge variety of modes and stuff to do, a lot of classic tracks from previous game. However, despite all the stuff to do and stuff to unlock it dosen't have as much replay value as Double Dash or other games in the series, I think it's because they all have better AI, the easy mode isn't
ridiculously easy and hard mode isn't
ridiculously hard, which is the case with MK DS.
Also to play multiplayer I have to get some link cable which I don't have and it would be pointless anyway because I don't know anybody else who owns a DS AND the game. Bummer.
Despite these complaints, it still kicks ass to have some Mario Kart on the go.
