I don't agree with this at all, and that is essentially saying that Mean Streets, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino and The Departed are the only good films he's made since they are the only ones that have to do with the Mafia. And yeah, that's ridiculous.
Raging Bull has Mafia elements but it's not a Mafia movie. Taxi Driver, Aviator and Gangs of New York were not mafia related and were all great movies. Last Temptation of Christ, King of Comedy, Bringing Out the Dead and Color of Money are also good.
Only Scorsese films I didn't like were Cape Fear and Kundun.
I still need to see Mean Streets, The Departed, Casino, After Hours and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, the latter of which I know can't be anything like that tv show it was spun off into.
