I havent seen the show.... Considering I dont have HBO, I always have to tell my friend to DVR anything I want to watch from HBO. This did not look like anything I would ever watch. Mostly because watching Jason Schwartzman makes me want to drill a hole in the side of my head, what did you mean he seems genuine? Between all the characters he plays we plays them all the same I cant think of a role that he even changed the character he plays besides just the script change. Hes Horrible.
The only thing I liked him in was Slackers and thats because the movie was centered around you hating him. I loved I heart Hucklebees but I think its because I just dealt with him.
