The director of Audio & Music at the BBC, Tim Davie has just come out as being firmly in the Mark Thompson camp of thinking too this afternoon. Seriously how can a supposed director of music so massively miss the point of how unique the programme strands and archive sessions are on 6music?

That said its not surprising when you read that he came to the BBC from the marketing departments at Pepsi Europe and Proctor & Gamble. Marketing for two industries that have an integral part in the cultural development of music in both the UK and on a global scale. [/sarcasm]
