biggest question is exactly what do you plan on using the amp for recreational can be pretty vague.
are you filling the bar on Saturday nights and rocking it out until closing? or are you just trying to be heard over your friend's drum kit? or just practicing in your bedroom? etc.
personally i'd lean towards the MV2266 but that's because i already have an old valvestate 40, which the DSL401 seems to be a souped up version of (AWESOME little amp for jamming with friends though)
