I'm on break at work so I looked up water sex. Yes, there are dangers of infection especially for the woman, according to this article, which looks quite thorough:

It talks about problems with using condoms underwater, issues with lubrication, and the higher risk of contracting vaginal yeast infections, urinary tract infections, and other infections. The solution they recommend: use a female condom. A female condom, you say? Yes. Here's a picture:
