I always thought it was a fun chick flick, I never realised men actually rated the writing of it. Although the critics seemed to like it but meh, fun light hearted film that doesn't take itself too seriously. If thinimajig died when the bus hit her, that would've made the film SO much better. What a brilliant end..

It's kind of about the segregation in high schools, as she was friends with the couple of freaks, but felt the need to get into higher ranks.
Now, about killing the girl off: Even if that would seem like "ending with a boom", it's actually just the easy way out, something we call "Deus ex machina". Plus, it wouldn't solve anything.
