It's not a pleasant thing to witness, thats for sure. My nana has been going slowly down hill for a number of years and so her alzheimers and dementia hasnt really come as a surprise. We knew about it before it was ever diagnosed but as she has her own house and is a constant hassle to her neighbours it looks like she'll go into a home.
My gran having recent bouts of delusions has come as a shock though. Shes 95 this year but has been in outstanding health, both physically and mentally up to now. Hopefully for her though, it will be something she can get over and get back to normal.
