Music videos were a pretty cool thing when they were around.
Image is a big marketing tool in the music industry like it or not and MTV have used that concept to it's fullest potential, without them metal, hip hop and grunge wouldn't have been quite as popular..
Today bands choose to market themselves through the internet, so MTV has no real practical use in the music industry anymore, t's no wonder they stick to the reality show formula now, Jersey Shore has been their biggest success in a long time.
I just wish the network would change their f*cking name already. Guido TV maybe.
