Yes, his personal life got messed up and people lost respect for him after he jumped on Oprah's couch and started preaching his religious crap to everybody, but all that aside I think this guy has talent. Of course there's Top Gun, but he was also excellent in films like A Few Good Men (with Nicholson), Jerry Maguire, Rain Man (with Hoffmann), Interview With the Vampire (with Brad Pitt - ughhh) and Mission Impossible. I gained so much more respect for him as an actor after watching him play the bad guy in Collateral. Most people seem to think he's crap though... |
I, also like Tom Cruise. Just putting that out there.
No really, he is a brilliant actor. Done some real quality films (and some bad ones). But overall I think he's among an elite group of actors.
