Thank you, CanwllCorfe! I did like the first 3 very much. They definitely have many of the qualities I was looking for: "abstract, non-repetitive, crunchy, gritty, menacing, aggressive, solid, and raw, like you're smashing something to smithereens with a large club. Chaotic."

Huh. I never guessed when joining MB that I would be someone who discovers she likes darkstep and industrial hardcore!

The last one..."Minus Zero" by Merzbow...well, I can't say I *liked* it, but it is interesting, since it poses the question of what is or isn't music. I don't know if many people would even classify it as a "song," since it verges on just being chaotic noise. "Minus Zero" reminds me of an uncomfortable visit with the drill at the dentist's office!
