Bruce and Pallister would have done the same job for their country together, i have no doubt. But Arsenal made that English back four their own. If it hadnt been for Adams and Keown, they probably would have gotten the chance.
As for saying those players were coming through the ranks, i know they already had but im just referring to the few seasons in the early to mid nineties where they quickly all held down first team starts. Giggs was out on your left wing, yes but so was Lee Sharpe. Butt was getting games in the middle but so were Ince and Keane. All of those i mentioned though managed to quickly become regulars which i always felt was key to Man Uniteds success during those years because all of a sudden not only did you have a good squad and were bringing in decent players from outside, but you were producing world class players from your ranks at the same time. That squad was so impressive.
