My review from RYM:

'The Great Curve' could go on for hours and I would still love it. Brilliantly layered with great syncopation on drums galore... Most of the rest of the album is good, though it grows tedious at certain tracks. I find myself legitimately waiting for it to end a few tracks after 'The Great Curve'.

This album is so ingrained in repetition, and so many of these rhythms and melodies do not justify being repeated for this long. The instrumental aspect of 'Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)' is boring by the one-minute mark, and it rarely changes. The vocal efforts do, but it does move the song in any particular direction, and leaves me bored for a good 4 or 5 extra minutes. The same can be said... For almost... Every song that isn't 'The Great Curve'. That song is the only one here with the rhythms worthy of such excess repetition. Not to mention I'd be lying if I didn't say the vocal patterns in the song are unbelievable, something that if they'd done with more deserving instrumental parts, would have been great.
tl;dr It's repetitive and doesn't justify its own repetitiveness.
