Wow, melodramatic thread for a relatively small issue. Honestly, you're complaining about a very small issue. Yes, if you read Cosmo and TMZ, watch People on television and consider Hollywood films an accurate mirror of society, well then you're rant is completely justified.

However, out in the real world, the rest of us have other stuff to worry about. I don't know a SINGLE woman who feels pressure from magazines and internet forums to be thin and gorgeous; mostly because we all grew out of that when we were teenagers and realized that there were more important things to focus our energy on. And if any grown woman actually DOES let her self-image be defined by airbrushed magazine photos and bored internet personalities, then they're pathetic. It becomes a problem when these losers pro-create and pass their self-obsessed petty insecurities onto their children and convince them this crap actually matters; but even then they should be able to snap out of it after a few years out on their own in the real world.

I'd recommend you spend your time compiling a rant about issues that ACTUALLY matter to society. I'm sure you could find many other alternatives.
