England had more clear cut chances (although even then not many), but the USA worked hard and were very solid defensively - and also created their share of chances (hitting the post, some good set piece opportunities in the first half which they never took advantage of etc). And considering the number of supposedly great players the England side possess, it was a much more evenly matched contest than you would've expected I think - so America definitely deserve their point in my opinion.

England had 57% possession, but how much of that did they turn into really good chances? Very little - Heskey through on goal, Wright Phillips' effort (which was ****) and maybe Glen Johnson's after the USA goal... but not much else I can remember! They had some counter attacks which they wasted as well. They were fairly average overall, and a point each is a fair outcome from that game in my opinion.
