Ooh, Beethoven. Totally agree with whoever posted him. He wrote an entire book called the Heilgenstadt Testament (or something German like that) about how depressed and angry he was.

I mean, as someone who devotes their entire life to writing music and then garners outrageous fame and recognition for it, but then slowly goes deaf.... that's like the DEFINITION of tortured genius, musically at least.
