I'll agree with you on Damien Rice. I know a lot of people that think he's incredibley boring, but I actually thought 'O' was a really good album. I generally listened to it more when things were going to sh*t, but it never depressed me any more. It was a good album for me to just sit back, listen to and not actually have to use my brain in any way other than to appreciate the music. Which is always nice! '9' didn't really grab me in the same way, unfortunately. Apart from '9 Crimes'. Not sure why (he's done better music), but I got a soft spot for that song.

I thought O was a masterpiece, one of the best records of the 00s. Reminiscent of Leonard Cohen, such a sombre tone to it. The string arrangements were great. 9 was incredibly average. He's had 2 records in about 8 years? He needs to pull his finger out and follow up 9 with something epic.
