Rented some movies. I had about 5 or 6 on my list of ones to rent and they didn't have a single one of them, so I rambled around and picked these up. Was really happy, only had one dud.

Out Of Africa

Beautiful movie, but about and hour and a half too long. It almost ruins it just because you're thinking 'goddamn die already Robert Redford' for the last hour. Meryl Streep was brilliant, and Robert Redford looked cute as a bugs ear so overall I give it 7/10

Shotgun Stories

This show really wowed me. And I wasn;t expectign much. By the cover it looked like it had been done a few times, but lord was I wrong. I really get into movies that are raw and realistic with unknown actors that give you something to relate to. This movie really hit it for me. There were places in the movie where it would just show a scene of the actor sitting down and thinking and smoking a cigarette without any music or anything, and those seemed like the most powerful scenes in the movie. I could relate, I felt what he felt. The story was based in a small town in Arkansas just showing life and how shitty it is. I didn't know at times if I was watching the movie or looking out my window. If there was a movie made about my town it was this one. I highly suggest it for people who like movies with a strong sense of reality. 10/10

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada

A little predictable. And the whole 'I'm Tommy Lee Jones and I'm a badass' has been done a few times, but overall a pretty good watch. Kept me entertained the whole movie but didn't move any mountains. Kinda makes you look at illegal immigrants in a different light. Worth a rent though. 7/10

Taxi Driver

I wanted to see what all the hype was about and I have to say, the movie was pretty great. Had a wonderful atmosphere to it. The music, the city, the taxi, the people in and out of the taxi were just great. Robert De Niro is a gift to the world of acting. Did I mention a handsome devil too? He makes a great spook with that mohawk at the end there. I might spoil this for people who havent watched it yet but I had a hard time distinguishing between what he was daydreaming and what was reality. I didn't really know when his daydream started. Was it before or after he met Cybil Shepard? Anyway, a great show and one I'll probably have to get in my collection. 9.5/10
