If you started with their recent albums and went backwards then this album probably does seem pretty raw...they progressively got more and more polished with each release. Transmissions From the Satellite Heart is even more crunchy than Clouds Taste Metallic. Go even further to In a Priest Driven Ambulance and it is allll about the guitars. What else have you heard?

I started with their newer stuff and i'm working my way back, although i skipped
Zaireeka because i can't find it on cd anywhere. I was comparing it to the likes of
The Soft Bulletin and
Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. The album has a nice production though, it almost feels live at times.
