I just really despise the over-serious tone of all soap operas...not to mention the fact that they tend to recycle storylines every now and then. Not that it's the writers' faults, but more the formula they have to adhere when they called up to write an episode (which, as I've been told by a fella I know who's written for Eastenders, is really restrictive).

Anyway, yeah, Emmerdale is absolute torture, but it's tied with Hollyoaks as far as the worst of the bunch goes for me.
