Alice in Chains- Something about this name just screams 'generic mopey grunge'. For the life of me I can't remember what the hell this band sounds like either.
The Sound of Animals Fighting- "Hey I know, let's come up with a name that's simultaneously obnoxious, pretentious, and misleading!" Freaking great band though.
Metallica- Seriously? THIS was the best you guys could come up with? It sounds like a suggestion that a directionally misguided teenager would come up with when he and his kiddy band who take themselves too seriously sit around in their parent's garage coming up with 'hardcore' names for the band. Usually when said misguided teenager suggests such a name, his bandmates slap him upside the head and tell him to shut the **** up. But somehow, this natural anti-embarassment barrier failed and the name stuck.
